Recha (BY)

zoomBelarus Recha The group Recha was started in September 2003 in Minsk, Belarus. Its founder and leader as well as the author of lyrics and music is Andrei Takindang (guitars, domras, vocal). Other members of the band are: Aryna Sykurova (violin, vocal, arrangements), Maryja Silvanovic (vocal), Kastuś "Lizka" Lisiecki (bass) oraz Mikita Kisou (guitars). Recently Leanid Paulionok has joined the group (percussion instruments).

The name "Recha," which means "echo," has not been given to the band by chance. In the music of the group echoes of numerous musical genres and styles can be heard - from traditional folk motifs to rock.

Recha was a finalist of "Bardauska Wosien 2004" and the festival "Basovisca 2005." They played together with the most famous artists of the Belorussian scene, such as Troitsa, W-Z Orkiestra and Viktar Sałkievic. In Poland they performed e.g. at the 10th Spotkania Folkowe "Z wiejskiego podwórza" (Folk Meetings "From Countryside").
